Not Our Favorite Plan ToyMar 10, 2010 We love the size of these little vehicles, but the star in the set, the crane, doesn't work very well. It seems poorly designed in that the crane doesn't reach down far enough to actually hook on to any other vehicles or anything at ground level. The pulley mechanism works, but doesn't have a very long cable/string to move so it really doesn't do much. This is a big source of ongoing frustration for my almost 3 year old.
The other two vehicles in the set or fine, but he doesn't play with them very much.
I recommend the other Plan Toys construction set, with the very cool excavator, over this one. The excavator is worth more than the price of the entire set, in our opinion. You can skip this one. Or perhaps you can figure out how to modify the crane with a longer string?
