Great Toy for Your Little Car LoverMar 10, 2010 We gave this garage to our son for his 3rd birthday and it is a huge hit. The fact that the ramps aren't glued on is a bonus for us, because when we were putting it together with him he didn't want us to attach the ramps! He was already playing with them with his vehicles. Now he carries the ramps around and uses them very creatively, and can easily attach them on the garage when he wants. Oh, and he likes the garage too!
It didn't take too long for us to put it together (maybe 30 focused minutes, at most) but the screws provided aren't very sharp so you either need to use a lot of force (more than I could muster) or use a drill as a power screwdriver, although that's risky. In the end my husband chose the brute force option.
On an only somewhat related matter, I think it's absurd to rate a toy on educational value (as Amazon asked me to do), as we are all learning something from everything we play with or use. I know what they mean, but it's all so subjective. What one person values as "educational" is often not shared.
In fact, I think the most "educational" toys aren't toys at all but silk scarves, boxes of cardboard, sticks, buckets, water, trees, etc. etc. The more structure and rigidity a toy has the less "educational" it is in my mind.

Our two boys LOVE all things cars. However, I was nervous about buying this garage, as it is a bit expensive, but it has been a hit. We have now had it a year and not a day goes by that it is not played with. It is made very well and had stood up wonderfully to the rigors of my two little ones (1 1/5 and 3). We use only matchbox cars with it, which seems to work great. They don't however, fit into the elevator. This toy does not do much, so it is an ideal toy for children that are rather repetitious, easily self-entertained, or good at imaginative play. My sons can spend hours lining up their cars and moving them around. It was a great purchase!
Best gift ever for my 2 year oldFeb 21, 2010 I purchased this for my 2.75 year old for Christmas, and now at the end of February, it is still in the middle of the living room and has had multiple HOURS of play every single day since then for two solid months now. He ADORES this thing. It is extremely solidly built, his match box cars fit on it, he can do the elevator by himself, and he just loves it. I can't rave enough about this toy. I purchased a wooden train set that was his other gift at Christmas, and it has gotten hardly any play compared to this garage.
Good quality basic toy....Feb 16, 2010 Major component to the wooden Plan City ensemble. Cleverly designed, be prepared to spend up to an hour assembling it. Vendor delivery was quick.
A wonderful toddler gift for a wooden toy!!!Feb 15, 2010 The toy was an excellant choice. The method of purchase through Amazon, made it worry free, and the delivery was timely and packaged well. The price was great compared to the local options of similar items.
My grandson loved it immediately, he uses if for his miniture hot wheels/matchbox cars and plays with it for long periods of time. My husband and son had fun putting it together, not a difficult project!
I will continue to purchase accessories for the toy!!! The little man and car are wonderful ingenious items that come with the toy.
