A lovely, unique version of the classic memory game. Players learn about colors, figures and quantities while matching pairs in this fun memory game. They collect wooden snails as they find the matching pictures hiding underneath.
There are four wooden boards, each with five different pairs of pictures with themes of the meadow, including ten snails to cover the pictures. The boards can be rotated so they can't be easily memorized. There are also five papers that add more playing variety by allowing players to draw new items, or to glue in pictures or photos.

Best First Memory Game Out ThereAug 16, 2009 Memory is a great first game for young children like my 3 year old son, but with card versions I have had the following problems:
-there are too many cards to hold my son's attention for an entire game
-cards are more boring to small children when faced down
-young children struggle to keep the cards in neat, easy to remember rows,
causing some frustration
-the cards are easily bent, torn, lost, scattered, etc.
Not so with Chelona's beautifully crafted all wood memory game. Instead of cards there are little snails placed securely over holes which reveal only five sets of matching pictures underneath. There are four double-sided game boards so he doesn't get bored with the same game/pictures. There are also paper game boards where we could make our own new games. On our very first try, we had a fun successful game where we could focus on turn taking and memory skills instead of the above list of problems. We went on to play four more rounds at my son's request! He loves picking up the snails to reveal the pictures and counting how many he has collected by the end of the game. Best of all, the game is made of lightweiht wood and features bright, charming pictures. There are other versions featuring different pictures that are equally cute. I'd say this game is best suited as a first memory game, and may be too simple for older children. It's a little pricey, but will be an heirloom toy that I keep both for quality and memories made while playing it!
