great valueFeb 24, 2010 I searched for a dollhouse that was wooden, not crazy colors and simple, and I got exactly what I wanted! This a great dollhouse for the money! I love that you can move the rooms around to create whatever style house you want--highrise, two-story, one-story. Not knowing if my daughter is going through a dollhouse "phase" (she is five), I really did not want to invest crazy amounts of money. She loves it so far (she got it for Christmas). I love the furniture, and I am impressed that they include workout equipment as one of the room set-ups--a great example to show our kids! My only complaint is that there are only two dolls. I just got another "family" from Plan Toys, but I feel like they are a touch too big, although my daughter doesn't seem to mind. Would definitely recommend.
GREATEST DOLLHOUSE EVERDec 20, 2009 this is the BEST dollhouse. we've been looking for a dollhouse for our 17 month old son and we finally found this! first of all, it is by far the best value you can find for a wooden dollhouse - in terms of size (it's big!) and what is included (LOTS of furniture and two people).
my favorite things are:
1. individual rooms are stackable and come apart so you can change the design into at least 10 different arrangements, or have a couple little houses. i think as a child gets older this is something that would allow the toy to grow with him/her.
2. tons of furniture included, super cute, realistic (actual dumbells, lamps, iron) and it's color coded. so all the kitchen stuff is yellow. the bathroom furniture is all green, etc. this is great for kids to learn about sorting and it just looks really cute, too.
3. easy accessibility to rooms (this was an issue with other dollhouses we looked at)
4. pretty easy to assemble
5. no slogans, etc, as the other person mentioned in their review.
6. i like that one room is the "workout room", important to instill!
downsides:
1. only two people. but melissa & doug makes the "Wooden family doll set" which is almost identical in style and size.
2. some people may think the colors are more "feminine" -- outside walls are pink and railings are pink. there is some purple too. but this did not bother us. inside walls and floors are yellow and each room's furniture is a different color so it's not like the whole thing is pink and purple.
this dollhouse is simple, cute, and classic. if you're shopping around i would definitely stop here!

Great Doll House w/ no character tie ins!Dec 26, 2008 Okay, as a parent I began researching dollhouses about 2 months before Christmas for my 3 year old. I was looking for a product that would hold up to abuse and creative play. I wanted a doll house that my daughter could really interact with and chose this one after a lot of looking around. My husband and I opened it up to put together on Christmas Eve and realized it was an even better product than we'd hoped. Here's why:
1. damage proof packaging
2. easy to assemble with a power driver and a philips head screw driver, although it would be harder to do without the power driver, to be honest
3. she played with it for hours
4. everything about it is well-made and sturdy, even the fully poseable dolls (although they look suspiciously like a couple of Art Majors) and chunky wooden furniture
5. you can make two houses if you want, love the modular rooms
6. no character or commercial slogans! My husband and I are tired of the over-commercialization. This product doesn't even carry a logo by the maker. I like that a lot.
Ther are no downsides to this dollhouse that I can see. The little fridge even opens.
