Great toy but the play dough dries out right away.Nov 26, 2009 My daughter received this set as a gift for her 2nd Birthday. Her Dad, brother and I all had a great time playing with it, showing her what to do. I would say we would play for an hour at a time every day for about week and the clay was useless at that point. We were sure to ball the clay together and secure the tops but it did not help.
Luckily, she received 2 cans of play dough brand clay with the set and we have been utilizing that with all of the tools and our imaginations, having a great time!!
So great toy, except the quality of the clay is not so durable.

A very good gift for a 3 year oldOct 24, 2009 My grand-daughter LOVES Play-Doh (as do most children) and her mother was looking for some fun tools for her to enjoy during Play-Doh playtime. My daughter put this on Sasha's wish list for her third birthday and I bought it for her (in addition to some other gifts). Based on the reviews here I also ordered some fresh cans of Play-Doh brand dough. It was a good thing because the dough that came with it was pretty much useless.
The tools were just the right size for a three year old. She really likes the rolling pins and the molds are fun too. I would think that any child over five or six might get bored with this kit pretty quickly. I have purchased several Melissa & Doug toys because they are mostly made of wood and are well built. This set lived up to my expectations and we are very happy with it, just be sure not to count on the dough that comes with it.
shape, model & moldMay 13, 2009 Very cute product. Grand daughter loves working with clay when her mother and I do gumpaste. The tools in this kit resemble our real ones. Seems to be made pretty well. Only disappointment was the clay was dry and unusable. I had to buy her some different clay.
Not as great as it looksApr 05, 2009 i thought the toy was better in the photo than what we received. the pieces were a lot smaller than i thought they'd be and not as well made as they appeared. the 4 press in round stamp toys were cheap plastic with sharp edges on the back where the kids would hold them to push them into the play-doh - not comfy or safe for little hands or big hands either! i thought they were going to be solid round wood stamps. the square shape stamps were made of wood and were ok, but very very small. the rollers were also very small. i was honestly pretty disappointed and didn't think it was worth $[...].

Wonderful Playdough Toys!Mar 07, 2009 These wooden playdough toys by Melissa & Doug are absolutely wonderful! We have several playdough toys for our 2.5 year old daughter, and these are by far the most played with. She loves the little blocks that create different shapes (triangle, circles, squares, very cute) and she loves the rollers!
I have had no issues with paint chipping off on our set.. we've had this set for about 3 months now - played with several times a week.
The dough that comes with this set.. yeah.. throw that away. Not very good.
Highly recommend these toys - excellent playdough toys!
