Perfect start up kit!Feb 14, 2010 This little set has really set my 16 month old into musical motion. He absolutely loves every piece in it, including the little crate:-)
we'r having so much funFeb 11, 2010 I bought this for my pre-school Sunday school class. I can't believe how much fun we are having with the Melissa and Doug band in a box. My kids love it. It's well worth the money.
This "band in a box" needs a new conductorFeb 10, 2010 As many of the other reviews have said, the tambourine is made of a very thin paper material. It breaks with the lightest of tapping. The tension causes it to not only tear, but to destroy the whole tambourine head. Therefore rendering the head unusable. Very sad day for the birthday girl. I am very disappointed with this item from Melissa and Doug. The other items have survived the 3 days we have owned this. They are okay, but do your research there are better band sets out there. The Wood Güiro is disappointing because the ridges are only 3/4 of a inch long on the instrument, leaving very little surface to scratch on. The cymbals are cute, but are too small to create a good clash. The clacker is great. The maracas are good, I just wish they created a fuller sound. The triangle I think is my favorite piece of the box. It sounds good and is easy to play. This could be a great item if Melissa and Doug would improve only a few things. Otherwise until these improvements happen, I suggest you look elsewhere for a better "band in a box".
Lots of FunJan 09, 2010 We purchaced this for our kids ages 4yrs and 19mths. This is the best music kit with at a great price. I think I might use it as much as our kids do. The Tambourine paper part broke, but we still use it on a daily basis. It's really a fun for all.
